Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity

Province IX Interim Meeting

Host Chapter: Gamma Nu

Stockton, California

October 23-24, 2004

Province IX commends the Gamma Nu brothers on all the hard work they have done to organize this interim meeting.

The assembly started with registration and lunch (from Baja Fresh) at the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in Stockton, California.  Brothers from Beta Gamma, Gamma Nu, Gamma Rho, Delta Sigma, Delta Phi, Arizona Graduate, and Pacific Graduate were in attendance.  The entire executive committee was also present.  Province IX was honored to welcome and thank Becky Fahrenbruch for visiting.  Province IX would also like to specially thank Craig Johnston for taking time away from another engagement to attend the meeting.

The opening ritual was performed by Supervisor Dr. Craig Johnston and Satrap Brett Rathi.  Then, Gamma Nu Regent Mark Walberg welcomed all brothers in attendance.  Reports were presented by the Province IX Officers and each chapter.  Gamma Nu and Delta Sigma each displayed powerpoint slide shows featuring photos from various events.  Grand Ritualist, Becky Fahrenbruch, presented a workshop on Kappa Psi rituals.  The meeting then continued through the afternoon.

The evening started with a caravan through the “treacherous” roads leading to the closing banquet site, Moore’s Riverboat.  The extravagant dinner banquet was held on the deck of a converted riverboat in the Sacramento/San Joaquin River Delta city of Isleton.  The banquet continued with the presentation of a Kappa Psi Recognition Pin to Tin Nguyen for an outstanding job coordinating the meeting.  And, Delta Sigma was presented the Traveler’s Award for bringing the most brothers to the meeting.  Accepting the award for Delta Sigma was Dr. Michael Dietrich.

Following the marvelous banquet, brothers gathered at the Gamma Nu house.  Brother spent the night enjoying each others company and making the most of this reuniting of brothers from the province.  The activities included card games, a dice game, foosball, dancing … and nutritious fluid supplementation.  Brothers also celebrated the birthday of Jessi Wilts.

As anticipated, the meeting, hosted by Gamma Nu, was very successful.  Province IX continues to strengthen and grow as evidenced by the increase in membership and participation of each chapter.
