Province IX Resolutions
(September
26, 2009)
|
|
1. Where as,
hosting a Province Assembly takes a
significant amount of time,
planning and unselfish brotherhood,
Be it resolved,
that the assembly thank Vice-Satrap
Bridgen, the Province
Planning Committee,
including Brothers Kayvan Moussavi, Stephanie Webb,
Cristy Garcia, Sang Luu, Alex Engelmann, Mary Moss, Jessica Lau, Paul Ko,
Shaddy Javadinejad, and the rest of Delta Phi, as well as sponsors (Rite
Aid, Big
City Bagels and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy) for hosting and providing
an
outstanding Assembly with a standing ovation.

2. Where as,
the passing of a fellow brother is a
tragic event for all those close to him,
Be it resolved,
that we observe a moment of silence at this time to honor the
memory of Brother Michael
Gres of the Epsilon Beta Chapter.
|
|
3. Where as, it has become a
Province IX tradition to recognize those who celebrate
birthdays the weekend of Province
assemblies,
Be it resolved, that
Selina Ramji (and any others who henceforth have not been acknowledged,
stand and be serenaded with "Happy Birthday" by the rest of the Province
attendees.
|
|
4. Where as,
the 55th Grand Council Convention is to be held within Province IX
borders, and
Where as,
financial support is essential to the success of G.C.C.,
Be it resolved,
that each chapter, collegiate and
graduate, as well as the province itself, help by donating a minimum of
$1500 towards the G.C.C. find by the province meeting prior to the 55th
G.C.C.

5. Where as, the 55th Grand
Council Convention is to be held within Province IX
borders,
and
Where as,
planning is essential to the success of G.C.C.
Be it resolved,
that we create the Province IX 55th G.C.C.
Planning Committee to be chaired by Brother Aaron Prince which shall
consist of at least one brother from each chapter, and
Be it resolved,
that this committee be formed within a month of the charges of this
committee being established, no later than 60 days from today.

6. Where as,
some things
presented in the letters of communication represented higher
forms of humor that
may not be understood by all member of the fraternity,
Be it resolved,
that all jokes be explained in
detail to Satrap Moore so that he too may join in the laughter.
|
|
7. Where as,
being able to actively participate in the
province meetings is crucial to
understanding what Province IX is all
about, and
Where as, new
chapters initiated within the past year are unfamiliar with the
traditional Province IX dance off,
Be it resolved,
that the brothers of Epsilon Iota be required to sit in the row
immediately behind the delegates at the upcoming Province IX spring
assembly in Tucson, AZ, and
Be it resolved,
that the brothers of the Epsilon Iota chapter be required to introduce
themselves via interpretive song and dance at tonight's banquet.

8. Where as,
we want to make our new supervisors feel more welcome on the west coast,
Be it resolved, that
we all talk to them in a Southern Accent during our banquet tonight and
refer to Brother Steve Weaver as "Staeve."
|
|
9. Where as,
chapter reports
bring up issues that need to be further addressed,
Be it resolved,
that Brother Eric Gupta give his next Los Angeles Graduate Chapter
report in the form of interpretive dance, and
Be it resolved,
that since Brother Khloth likes the word 'ship' that the official emblem
for the 55th G.C.C. in San Francisco contain some form of ship, and
Be it resolved,
that the Most Improved Graduate Chapter and 6th Graduate Chapter in the
nation be recognized for playing a song about California during their
chapter report, and
Be it resolved,
that no further Kanye West impressions are made because his actions are
unbecoming of a Kappa Psi brother.

10. Where as,
it takes more than a hearty breakfast to
recover from a night of brotherly
activities at province,
Be it resolved,
that the host chapter provide caffeinated coffee or "energy shots" for
all members attending the meeting upon arrival to the meeting and have
our shirts on time.
