Province IX Resolutions
(March

|
|
1. Where as,
hosting a Province Assembly involves the
cooperation and understanding of
outstanding facilities,

Suites, the University of Arizona, Acacia at St. Phillips, and Level Bar
& Lounge for their hospitality by having the new Secretary/Treasurer
send an official letter of thanks to said establishments.

sponsorship of Province IX meetings helps
ensure low registration costs
and the ability to provide a quality meeting with improved attendance,

Pharmacy, Mark Boesen with the Apothecary Shop, Fry's, Dr. Apgar, Dr.
Lee, Dr. Jackowski, Dr. Boesen, and Dr. Murphy for their donations by
having the new

|
3. Where as, the success of a
province is a result of the unselfish dedication and
unwavering
brotherhood in the face of seemingly insurmountable tasks,
Be it resolved, that
the Province thank Brothers Breanna Bernarducci, Sunny Patel, Ashlee
Gerfen, Debbie Doehnert, Kathryn Elofson, Robyn Choi, Emily Lundeen,
Cameron Haun, Christina DiGiacomo, Kerry Redman, Connie Chau, GCD Dr.
John Murphy, and the entire Gamma Upsilon Chapter with a standing round
of applause; Most notably for their amazing coordination with
transportation.
|
|
4. Where as,
life-events often coincide with the meetings of Kappa Psi and can
prevent
brothers from attending meetings,
Be it resolved,
that the Province send a small gift (not
to exceed $50) along with a card to Supervisor Jason Milton for his new
baby boy (DOB TBD).
|
|
5. Where as,
Province IX will be the host province of
the 55th G.C.C. in San Francisco,
California on August 2nd - 6th, 2011,

be submitted to the Province IX G.C.C. Planning Committee Chair, Brother
Aaron Prince at the Spring 2011 meeting in Glendale, Arizona.
|
|
6. Where as,
having a warm
breakfast provided by the hotel on the morning of the
province assembly is necessary for improved performance and cutting
costs,
Be it resolved,
that the new Vice-Satrap work with
the next two province sites to attempt to find a hotel that provides a
breakfast included in the costs of the room.
|
|
7. Where as,
the Fraternity promotes professionalism at
their province meetings
Be it resolved,
that even though hats cover features that are otherwise unappealing,
that province attendees (especially the executive committee) not wear
hats during meeting business.
|
|
8. Where as,
barbeques in pool areas provide potentially hazardous areas to brothers
and
Blackberry's alike,
Be it resolved, that
proper attire be required when entering said pool areas, electronics not
be brought into the area and most importantly, per risk management,
ensure that a life-guard is always on duty if the hotel doesn't provide
one.
Failed.
|
|
9. Where as,
quality, up to date music is essential for
the entertainment of brothers at the
province social events
And where as,
iPods do not make good DJ's,
Be it resolved,
that we applaud Maureen Yang for taking the initiative to change the
said inadequate DJ to improve the quality of music at Gentle Bens.
|
|
10. Where as,
the academic and professional achievements
of Kappa Psi Chapters can be
affected by the less "professional" PDC,
Be it resolved,
that Province IX send a letter of communication to Epsilon Iota
expressing our sincere regret for their absence.
|
|
11. Where as,
it is tradition for Province IX to
officially recognize the birthdays of
brothers who attend province meetings on their birthday weekend,
Be it resolved,
that the assembly stand and sing "Happy Birthday" to Brother Breanna
Bernarducci, who celebrated her birthday by hosting a province meeting.
