 Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity

Province IX Meeting

Host Chapter: Delta Sigma

Glendale, Arizona

March 5-6, 2004

Province IX commends the Delta Sigma brothers on all the hard work they have done to organize this Province meeting.

Brothers arrived early Friday afternoon and checked into the Ramada Hotel, adjacent to the Arrowhead Mall.  Once they got settled in, they traveled down the street to Fox and the Hound.  Dinner was held at the house of Delta Sigma's GCD, Dr. Michael Dietrich.

The assembly started Saturday morning with registration and breakfast (sponsored by Albertsons) at the Midwestern University College of Pharmacy in Glendale, Arizona. Brothers from Gamma Nu, Gamma Upsilon, Delta Sigma, Delta Tau, Delta Phi, Arizona Graduate, and Pacific Graduate were in attendance.  Province IX was honored to welcome and thank those brothers visiting from outside of Province IX.

Reports were presented by each officer and each chapter.  Delta Sigma displayed a powerpoint slide show featuring photos from various events.  A working lunch (Panda Express) was sponsored by Walgreens.  The meeting then continued through the afternoon.

New officers were elected and installed.  Thanks to the outgoing officers.  And congratulations to the incoming officers: Brett Rathi, Satrap; Sheldon Kong, Vice Satrap; Ali Rezaei, Secretary/Treasurer; Jon Nakao, Chaplain; and Kristl Tom, Historian.

The evening started with a caravan to the closing banquet site, Rawhide Western Town.  Time was spent touring the authentic western town, shopping, and bull riding while awaiting the hayride to the cookout under the stars.  Brothers were treated to mesquite grilled steak or BBQ chicken. The banquet continued with the presentation of Kappa Psi Recognition Pins to Michelle Lemanski and Kristl Tom for an outstanding job coordinating the meeting.  Delta Sigma received the Outstanding Chapter Report Award.  And, Delta Tau was presented the Traveler’s Award for bringing the most brothers to the meeting.  The evening under the desert stars concluded with marshmallows around a bonfire and an elbow game.

This meeting was very successful.
