Chapter History:
The Gamma Nu Chapter was installed on September 17, 1960 at
the Morris
Chapel by Grand Vice-Regent, Glen J. Sperandio. The
Chapter had its origin as
the Kappa Psi Club in the UOP
School of Pharmacy, an active campus
organization for two years
before approval for its affiliation with the Kappa Psi
Pharmaceutical
Fraternity. They celebrated their Silver
Anniversary
at
Homecoming in 1985. Their GCD, Dr. Floriddia
served
as Executive Director
from 1973 until 1980.
On December 13, 1973 they bought a house at 236 W. Stadium Drive in
Stockton. Through the years, the house has been used to hold social,
professional, and academic events. Its gone through a few renovations;
the most
recent occurred during the summer of 2006 (new sprinkler
system, fresh coats of
paint, improved landscaping). It currently houses
5 residents and is used
weekly
for chapter meetings.
In 2004, Dr. Adam Kaye took over as GCD.
To this day, the Chapter leads the way professionally and socially
and is
recognized as the premiere organization
on the UOP School of Pharmacy
campus. In recent history, Gamma Nu has consistently
distinguished itself as
Province IX's "Chapter of the
Year" (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007).
