The
Arizona Graduate Chapter was installed on March 20, 1953 at Broadway Chalet in Tucson by the Grand
Secretary/ Treasurer, Ray S. Kelley. In 1956, the Chapter officers
requested that the Chapter be placed on inactive
status. The Chapter was reactivated on November 13, 1971. The Chapter became dormant again in the 1980's. In
1988, the
Chapter was reactivated with the help of Brother Brett Rathi.
In 2006, the chapter welcomed Past Grand Regent and Past Province
IX Supervisor, Brother Craig Johnston.
Brother Craig moved from
Missoula, Montana to take a faculty position at Midwestern
University
(Glendale,
Arizona).
In 2008, the chapter took a huge step forward by electing a new board of
officers...
something that had not been
done in over five years. The primary focus
of the new board
was to increase membership/participation and
rejuvenate the chapter. No time was
wasted as regular meetings were scheduled and events were planned.
In 2009, the revived
chapter continued to hold regular meetings and events. They initiated a
scholarship to assist Delta Sigma brothers attend G.C.C. And, they
were the first graduate chapter in Province IX to present a chapter report
via slideshow at the annual province assembly. At the 54th G.C.C.
(Clearwater, FL), Arizona Grad was named the Most Improved Grad Chapter and
ranked the 6th Best Graduate Chapter in the Fraternity.
