Province IX Meeting - Officer Reports

 

Henderson/Las Vegas, Nevada

March 3-4, 2006

 

Grand Regent Dave Maszkiewicz

  • Glad to return to Province IX & Las Vegas (3rd trip, including Delta Tau's chartering)

  • Thanked brothers for attending 2005 GCC  (3rd largest attendance)

  • Challenged chapters/brothers to look at what they can do to make Kappa Psi better

  • Reminder:  APhA Convention (reception and booth)

  • Announced new bulletin board on the Kappa Psi website

 

Supervisor Cameron "Radar" Van Dyke

  • Reviewed Spring Packet

  • Reminder:  APhA Convention -- KY Reception (Saturday) and Booth #1032

  • Encouraged each chapter to complete and submit Progress Reports

  • Discussed Kappa Psi E-mail Accounts

  • Read "Big Pictures of Kappa Psi" (by Dave Maszkiewicz)

  • Encouraged brothers to run for province office

 

Vice-Supervisor Claudio Faria

  • Passing of Brother Jason

  • Announced Province I Assembly in April

  • 2007 GCC will be held at the Boston Sheraton (August 7-12)

 

Satrap Derrick Egi

  • Thanked Executive Committee and brothers in attendance

  • Thanked Grand Regent and Delta Tau Chapter

  • Pleased with Province IX's progress

  • Reminded chapters about Chapter Progress Reports

  • Encouraged fundraisers for 2007 GCC

 

Vice-Satrap Linda Ngo

  • Helped plan province meetings

  • Thanked Province Planning Committee

 

Secretary/Treasurer Ali Rezaei 

  • All chapters current with dues

  • Province balance:  $1800

  • Helped set up Scholarship Fund (separate from Province IX account)

  • Wrote 2 checks: Kappa Psi Golf Foundation ($100), reimbursement ($127)

 

Chaplain Jon Nakao

  • No Report

 

Historian Kristl Tom

  • Applauded Delta Tau and Province IX Executive Committee

  • Continued to submit articles to The MASK on behalf of province

  • Contacted/Reminded chapters few weeks prior to MASK deadlines

  • Fall 2005 issue - 100%

  • Winter 2006 - 100%

  • Spring 2006 - 100%

  • Most represented province in MASK

  • Maintained province website and Yahoo Group

  • Both observed their 1st anniversary in January

  • Website has tripled in size (encompasses over 50 pages)

  • Updated website at least twice a month

  • Newest addition to website: Records Page

  • Yahoo Group continues to grow (newest addition: MASK archive)

  • Released new online Province IX Photo Album

  • Each Chapter has login and password

  • Albums of Province's events and Chapters' events

  • Currently contains over 1300 photos

  • Assisted with planning of 2006 Spring Assembly

  • Chaired Awards Committee

  • Thanked brothers for opportunity and privilege to serve province

 

Immediate Past Satrap Brett Rathi

  • Reviewed position - oversee transition of officers

  • Reviewed reason/importance of province assemblies

  • Lead a game (Choice of Chocolate/Vanilla Ice Cream)
